This was a really bad anime music video I made back in October 2005, supposedly deleted from (animemusicvideos.orgs) server. (Fast-forward five years into the future,) Im now a college bound film student. The whole purpose of this video was to revive the linier editing style and mpeg-format that were once a mandate for AMVs of the statuesque. \r

Previous to 2005, MPEG was slowly being phased-out by DivXs superior quality and compression ratios. With DivX being the new codec of choice, many editors started to focus on making their videos into lossless visual spectacles. Anime Music Videos soon became a convenient excuse to throw disparate imagery and music together. Consequently, the viewer was often left without any sense of initiation into the animes story. \r
\r
Theres almost a sensation of disconnect with modern AMVs. Old AMVs would introduce you to new music or show off a summers worth of editing by basement dwelling neurotics. I wanted to reintroduce that experience to the AMV community.\r
\r
Looking back, I can say this video had maybe one or two good synchronizations. Yes, it is very over-literal and conceptually basic (flawed even, lol). This was edited over a 24 hour period while I was still familiarizing myself with the Adobe software. \r
\r
The music is by an Independent Band called ROOK and the song is called Defenseless (Promo Version).
