Autopsy of a dog preserved 12,400 years in the ice
In Siberia, scientists of the university of Yakutsk discovered a 12,400 years old dog prisoner in the ice. His autopsy carried out in Moscow on March 15th, 2016 revealed that his body was perfectly preserved through time. Truffle with the tail via the hairs and even the brain, the carcass is quasi intact. The animal would have died at the time of a landslide during the Paleolithic period.
Among the people present at the time of the autopsy, South Korean Hwang Woo-suk, famous professor to have cloned a human embryo in 2004, set out again with samples of the dog with an aim of cloning it. It is the first time that a dog, probably domesticated by a man of Néandertal for hunting is found. Perhaps the bacteria present in the digestive system and the ticks in its hairs will make it possible to better inform us about the living conditions at this period.
