A surgery that gave hope to parents who lost children to Tsunami

In the 2004 tsunami disaster, many parents lost their children to the waters. Scores of distraught parents chose to put their faith in a surgical procedure, called Recanalisation. A surgery that rejoins the fallopian tubes of sterilised women.

Mahalaksmi and E. Arumugam lost two sons to tsunami. Eight months later, they chose to opt for the recanalisation procedure.
They have a seven-year-old daughter now. And they believe their sons will be reborn as her children.

Many other families underwent the recanalisation surgery in the hope for having children again.
