A decades-long love story continues between two storks in Croatia. The Dodo is reporting that the male, Klepetan, has once again returned to his partner Malena after his annual 8,000-mile-long fall and winter migration to South Africa.

The Dodo is reporting that the male, Klepetan, has once again returned to his partner Malena after his annual 8,000-mile-long fall and winter migration to South Africa. 

The only difference is that this year, he made his typical March arrival one week early.

According to Croatia Week, the pair met and built their rooftop nest more than 20 years ago. 

They used to migrate to Africa together, but 22 years ago, Malena’s wing was injured by a hunter, grounding her.
