Welcome to 5 apps, where this week we are going to help you discover the wonderful world of video editing – the one subject were we really have no excuse for getting it wrong. That said, we are not looking at Premier, Final Cut, or Vegas, but instead we are focusing on the mobile editors – helping your create and upload dynamic videos on the go.
One of the best and most full featured mobile video editing applications is KineMaster. And despite how much it can do, this little app is nice and easy to use. First you must pick all of the images and clips you want to include in your final creation. After putting these in order you can adjusts volumes, colors, clip speed, effects, transitions, shorten sections, crop the image... You can even draw and voice over the video if you want. Then, when you have everything in place, you can share it – but yes, if you want to lose that watermark you will have to pay.
While you do not need any special skills to use Adobe Premiere Video Clip, it will be of particular interest to those of you are looking to take your video editing more seriously. It includes two methods of creation, one automatic and one manual. Automatic grabs selected clips and them, cropping and altering them to match the music you have selected. The manual method gives you more freedom and tools, including filters. But the best bit is when you think you have reached your limit of what you can manage in app, you can send your creation to the desktop version of Premiere and finish the editing there.
We have been impressed with just how easy Magisto is to use. Now, you make have heard Magisto because of its website, where you can also edit video easily. The app lets you choose your video clips or images, select a soundtrack, and add a title. That's it. From that point you just leave Magisto to do its thing. Thanks to its scanning engine that understands the content of videos it will find the most interesting bits and fills it with incredible effects and transitions to make your personal video masterpiece.
If there is a mobile video editing app that looks and feels like it is offering you the full desktop experience, it is Pinnacle Studio. You may be aware of Pinnacle thanks to its desktop version, but the iPhone and iPad apps are also amazing. Multiple channels can be filled with videos and images from different sources, precise cuts, professional transitions, animated titles, the ability to transfer projects to the desktop software, and many other advanced editing tools make this, perhaps, the best editing app.
Making a video is one thing, but making a video for you and your friends to laugh at is something else. VivaVideo is a simple application whose goal is to make funny videos with it multiple tools. The app lets you record up to five minutes of video, only filming when you touch the screen. You can also add filters directly to see what the finished video will look like – and create video from selections of images cut together. Its editing tools lets you can add stickers, animations, effects, text, sounds, music, transitions, or apply themes to an entire video.
