Entertainment During World War 2: Private Buckaroo (1942)

A World War II entertainment gem! Private Buckaroo is ostensibly about a young songwriter who wants to get into the war, but is rejected for flat feet. He decides to help by putting on an entertaining song and dance show for the troops. The plot moves on, but it’s really not important. The grand entertainment to be found in Private Buckaroo are in the numerous and spectacular musical productions. Feeding off the star power and showmanship of the gorgeous singing Andrews Sisters, Private Buckaroo is an explosion of talented performances with mostly patriotic themes. Not to be missed is Shemp Howard of The Three Stooges fame running off a spree of slapstick gags. Private Buckaroo is delectable diversion that will leave viewers star struck.
