Beginning with football and the latest from the Euro 2016 Quarter-Final Action, where hosts France have cruised past Iceland 5-2 at Stade de France to progress into the semi-finals of the tournament.
France got off to a perfect start as they took the lead in the 12th minute through Olivier giroud, before Paul Pogba doubled their advantage less than 10 minutes later. The home side seemed to be on a mission as they scored twice before the interval through Dimitri Payeh and Antoine Griezmann, taking a stunning 4-nil lead. However, Iceland got one back in the 56th minute, when Kolbeinn Sigthorsson converted past the French goali at the near post. It didn’t last long though, as France extended the margin via Giroud again a few minutes later. Icelands 84th minute goal didn’t do more than reducing the deficit as the hosts managed to wrap up the campaign 5-2. France will take on Germany in the second semi-final in Marseille on Thursday night, while the first semi-final will pit Portugal against Wales on Wednesday night in Lyon.
