Interview: Rohingya boat tragedy

DVB's Aye Nai spoke to a Rohingya man from Natchaung Camp in Pauktaw who witnessed the sinking of several boats carrying over 100 Rohingya escaping the path of Cyclone Mahasen on Monday night.

He says authorities were not doing enough to evacuate the internally displaced people living in the camp - so they tried to escape further inland on boats.

Forty-two people have been found alive, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), while over 50 others are still missing near Pauktaw in Burma's Arakan state.
