Why 50,000 Dalits and Adivasis are set to storm the capital and demand a new social order

On 29th August, Dalits, Muslims and Adivasis from across 25 Indian states will gather at the Ashoka inscription at Gujarat's Jhunagadh.

They will be demanding dignity and equality for all through their march across the country.

Titled Dalit chale Sangharsh ki Aur their march is organized by the Dalit Samman Sangharsh Manch, a loose group of 1000 Dalit Adivasi and Minority organizations who have come together post the extraordinary Una dalit uprising, to amplify the concerns of India's minorities.

The march hopes to cover 25 states before ending on 20th November at New Delhi in a mob size that hopes to shake the Prime Minister's office.

Ashok Bharti, President of NACDOR (National confideration of Dalit and Adivasi organizations) is the national organizer of the march. Bharti tells Catch why 50,000 Dalits, Adivasis and minorities are set to storm into the capita and demand for a new social order.
