The Tequila Song! "I Met God In Mexico" - By Danny Taddei Coastal Americana/Trop Rock

The tequila song (I Met God In Mexico) is a funny song Coastal Americana/ trop-rock music video based on a true story of indulgences and a little bit of craziness while drinking Mezcal in Mexico. It's a funny song. It's a sailing, beach music, Caribbean parrothead music video.
He wasn't much of a drinking man. He had a shot, then a beer, then another shot and another beer and before long there were 10 rounds of those suckers in there. The story (Given in Danny's words below the credits), is worth the short read. It is a funny song and we hope you enjoy the tune. May your butt wiggle!

Danny's story of the song, I Met God In Mexico:

"While sailing my sailboat from Marina Del Rey California to Miami Florida I just happened to find the true meaning of drunk. I wrote “I Met God in Mexico” after a night drinking better part of a Mescal bottle and chasing it with 10 beers. I wrote the song that night - according to my wife Korin, but I didn't remember it nor did I find the paper it was written on until about 6 months later when we were in the West Indies anchored up in a harbor.

It was while digging through my navigation station on my sailboat, Makai, that I found the notebook. I was actually looking for a notebook to write down my latest song that came to mind (Ain't Got Nothing). While looking through the notebook for a free page, I found I Met God In Mexico, scribbled down, melody line in a scratched in staff and some chords. If I hadn't written "Ain't Got Nothing", I might have never found "I Met God in Mexico”.

So - as it happens, I am a good fisherman. I caught a few tunas on the way into the port of Zihuatanejo Mexico (Z-Town as we sailors call it). I called out on my ship radio to the other cruising captains and asked if anyone wanted some fish. That call led to a party on a boat named Toucan and that led to my drinking 10 shots of Mescal tequila with 10 Presidente beers to chase the shots.

I never did get around to eating dinner that night but I did get good and drunk. All of us on that boat did for that matter. One guy grabbed the guy next to me, pulled him over and gave him a huge hicky on his neck
