CLEARWATER, FLORIDA — Carmen Chamblee wanted to send a message to her ex-boyfriend, so she lit his car on fire. Unfortunately, the 19-year-old torched the wrong car, and her act was caught on a nearby security camera.

On Aug. 27 near Clearwater, Florida, Chamblee spotted what appeared to be her ex’s white Honda Accord. She reportedly tucked a rag into the car and doused it with a flammable liquid, which she then lit on fire. In the surveillance video, she can be seen fanning the flames for a few seconds to make sure it did the intended damage.

Once the car was roasting, witnesses say they saw Chamblee mount her bike and ride away. She didn’t stick around long enough to see the owner of the car freaking out, who as it turns out, wasn’t her ex-boyfriend. The owner, Thomas Jennings, ran outside with his roommate and tried to douse the flames with a bucket of water, but to no avail.

Carmen Chamblee is now facing charges of second degree arson.
