The final 2016 tour stop of the successful In-City Athletics meeting, the Golden Fly Series was hosted on Thursday in Schaan in the Principality of Liechtenstein. Liechtenstein is the world’s sixth smallest country and boasts just 40,000 inhabitants. The "FlySwat" - the world’s largest mobile certified athletics facility, built especially for the purpose – was celebrating its 10th Tour Stop.
The victory in the men’s pole vault was finally clinched by Jan Kudlicka who jumped 5.70m. Da Silva did not pass that height on his first try so lost on countback. Third place went to Greek World Indoor Champion Kostas Filippidis with a respectable 5.60m.
The Women’s Pole Vault was won by Finland’s Minna Nikkanen with 4.50m ahead of Iryna Yakaltsevich (BLR) with 4.40m and Maryna Kylypko (UKR) with 4.20m.
