‘MURICA — The U.S. is in the middle of a serious epidemic, and it’s nothing to clown around about, well — maybe it is.

Creepy clown sightings have been spreading faster than Pokémon Go, causing Americans to collectively soil themselves in more than two dozen states, according to Time.

The sightings first started in South Carolina in late August after rumors they were spotted trying to lure children into the woods.

Enter social media, and now creepy clowns are running amok.

In Alabama, at least seven people are now looking at felony charges of making a terrorist threat linked to “clown-related activity,” Rainbow City Police Chief Jonathan Horton told the Times-Picayune.

Last week, clowns were spotted at Penn State, so naturally thousands of PSU students, rather than hit the books, hit the streets to hunt them down.

Clowns have now been popping up in Canada, the U.K. and even Down Under. Where will they strike next?
