Be aware of what you share online about your kids: study

These days, it's almost expected that parents will regularly post pictures of their kids online to give friends and family updates on what they're doing.
But there can be negative -- or even scary -- consequences, researchers found in a new study.
The study recommends that parents often need to be more careful about protecting the online identities of their children, becoming familiar with the privacy policies of the websites they post on and never sharing their child’s location in a post.
Researchers caution that information shared can be stolen or repeatedly re-shared, unbeknownst to parents, potentially ending the in hands of pedophiles or identify thieves.
