Judge approves Volkswagen's record $14.7B buyback deal

A federal judge approved a record $14.7-billion settlement in the Volkswagen emissions-cheating case Tuesday. The agreement will see roughly 475,000 owners of Volkswagens and Audis get the opportunity to have their cars bought back or modified by Volkswagen. VW was rocked by a scandal last year when the automaker admitted to cheating on diesel emissions tests on vehicles between 2009-15. The scandal involved close to 600,000 cars in the U.S. and approximately 11 million worldwide.
