The company offers the new Honda Amaze with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. While the petrol engine is the same unit which does duty on the Honda Brio, the diesel unit in the Honda Amaze is all new and has been specifically developed for the Indian market. The diesel powered Amaze produces a class leading power output of 100 BHP, while torque is 200 Nm. Honda offers both engines with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol powered Amaze is also offered with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol Amaze manual, petrol Amaze automatic and diesel Amaze return a fuel mileage of 18 km/l, 15.5 km/l and 25.8 km/l respectively (as per ARAI). Honda has priced the Amaze very aggressively and this sub 4-metre sedan starts at Rs. 6.08 lakhs for the base variant in Mumbai.
