Patriots trade Pro Bowl linebacker Jamie Collins to Browns

The New England Patriots traded linebacker Jamie Collins to the Cleveland Browns Monday for a third-round pick. Collins was set to be a free agent this offseason and contract negotiations never progressed, ESPN reports. The deal also comes one day before the NFL trade deadline. The 27-year-old had been a standout on the Patriots' defense and was named to the Pro Bowl last season. The Browns receive an impact player for their defense, which is ranked last in total defense.
