Since 1983 the ASP World Tour has been the pinnacle of surfing and encapsulated all of the variety and diversity of the surfing world under one international league. In 2015 they will change their name to reflect the scope and growth of this amazing tour. The WSL will see 34 professional surfers competing across 11 events whilst the WSL Women's Tour comprises the best 17 professionals competing in 10 events. Event results will convert to points and count towards the ASP World Title Race and massive 6 figure prize purse. Commencing in March and running through to December the tour will travel to some of the most exotic locations and idyllic coastlines across the globe. Technical skill and mastery are on show as surfers push themselves to their physical and emotional limits.

The Big Wave World Tour (BWWT) adds to the amazing spectacle and diversity of the surfing on offer as specialist surfers take on waves of 25ft and higher.

The WSL serves to celebrate and grow the sport, elite athletes, diverse fans and dedicated partners that together embody professional surfing today. In 2015, the convergence of the production, marketing, media, social and sponsorship initiatives under the WSL banner for the first time in the sport’s history which will allow the WSL to prioritize athletes and fans as well as celebrate and grow the sport of surfing worldwide. 2015 will see the fruits of this rebirth in professional surfing as the new look, tone and feel of world-class programming will again showcase the world’s best surfers on the world’s best waves better than ever before.
