Another attempt at a 'How I Met Your Mother' spinoff is in the works

The television world seems to have taken the phrase "if first you don't succeed, try, try, try again" to heart. A new attempt at a "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff, entitled "How I Met Your Father," is officially in the works, according to Deadline. The show will be an ensemble cast like the original and will be the same story, though this time told from a woman's perspective. None of the original HIMYM cast will return. This is the second attempt at a spinoff, the first being called "How I Met Your Dad." The series deadpanned and never made it into the CBS lineup. The new show hopes to have more success this time around, brining on "This Is Us" executive producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger to help write it.
