Is Apple finally building a dual-SIM iPhone?

iPhone 8 rumor threads have already been filled with numerous speculations. Documents filed with China’s State Intellectual Property Office describe a dual-SIM card feature that would allow the iPhone to store two phone numbers. A dual SIM card option would add some bulk to the hardware, but there has been growing interest lately around the technology for embedded SIM, which can be reprogrammed through software. The dual sim iPhone may also be the fruition of Apple's acknowledgment of its users need to have separate numbers for personal and business use.
