Alia Bhatt Backs Out Of 'Rock On' Sequel For 'Udta Punjab'

It had been earlier reported that Alia Bhatt would star in the sequel to Rock On and would also croon her own songs in the film. Indeed, it was being said that the makers wanted Alia to be a part of this project for this very reason- their need for an actress who would sing her own songs. However, it has now been learned that Alia has backed out of the project!

Sources claim that Alia will start shooting for Abhishek Chaubey's Udta Punjab in February and thus,has informed the makers of Rock On sequel that she won't be able to accommodate them. Following this, the makers have started looking for a new girl to play the role.

Udta Punjab, which also stars Shahid Kapoor, revolves around the rampant drug use in North India.
