Ajay Devgn: "Singham Returns is not at all inspired by Telugu Singham II''

While Rohit Shetty's Singham was a remake of the eponymous Tamil blockbuster, the second instalment of the Ajay Devgn starrer is not inspired by the Tamil film's sequel, Singham II. At the trailer launch of Singham Returns, when Ajay was asked if his upcoming film too is inspired by the sequel of the South film, he said, ''No not at all. When the South film just went on floors, Rohit went and got its narration and then he decided that we should not remake that film. Rohit worked on the film's script for almost two years and once we all were happy, we rolled with it. So it has got nothing to do with the Tamil film.'' Singham Returns stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead and is slated to release this Independence Day.
