Ex-Android chief Andy Rubin to take on iPhone

The cofounder of Android Andy Rubin is making strives to release a new smartphone that can compete with the iPhone. The phone is to due for a mid-year launch with a similar pricepoint to the iPhone 7, according to a Bloomberg report. The report also indicates Foxconn already called dibbs to manufacture the device. Rubin's team is composed of 40 people, some of whom came from Google and Apple, to form his new consumer product company called Essential.
