White House: Conway 'counseled' after plugging Ivanka Trump's brand

Just a day after President Donald Trump came out in defense of his daughter Ivanka after her fashion line was dropped from retailer Nordstrom, his top adviser Kellyanne Conway is hot water for an endorsement she gave in a television interview Thursday. Conway was "counseled" according to White house officials after she plugged Ivanka Trump's fashion line in an interview with Fox News. Conway told viewers to "go buy Ivanka's stuff." Conway has been "counseled on that subject, and that's it." Federal law says that public employees may not use their positions "for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity."
