The path of the candy went right back to the gelatin, which is extracted from pig skin. The sweets which were filmed, exist only 7% of gelatin. In addition, the candies consist mainly of water, starch, sugar, coloring and flavoring agents.

A Belgian filmmaker has charted - in horrific detail - how gelatin sweets are made by showing the process of their creation in reverse. Gelatin is a gelling agent made from animal skin and bones. The short film shows how the gelatin is made from boiling the skin, bones and cartilage of a pig. The products are primarily made from animal matter the meat industries have left over.
