Former national security adviser Michael Flynn has asked for immunity
in exchange for testifying in investigations by Congress into Russian interference in the US election.
Flynn's attorney Robert Kelner released a statement that said in part that, "General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit." Flynn’s lawyer suggested immunity is justified because his client is “the target of unsubstantiated public demands by Members of Congress and other political critics that he be criminally investigated.” Trump tweeted in defense of Flynn Friday morning.
