Did you know that wines from South Africa are old world and new world all wrapped up in one? Or that, there's more Chenin blanc planted in South Africa than the rest of the world combined? Or how about the fact that, Pinotage is the love child of Pinot Noir and Cinsault? Did you know that in South Africa you can share a sip with a giraffe or a zebra? OK, that's a lie but you CAN do some serious whale watching along with your wine tasting.

There's a whole bunch more other stuff you don't know about South African wine, but you have to watch the video to learn more.

In this video, via Skype Wine Oh TV's Monique Soltani chats with Siobhan Thompson, the CEO of Wines of South Africa and Marketing Manager, Jim Clarke.

This video is not sponsored by or paid for by the Wines of South Africa. They did however, send me three bottles of wine to taste to prep for interview: Graham Beck Brut Rose, Groot Constantia Sauvignon Blanc, Warwick Three Cape Ladies Cake Blend.
