Medalist GOLD van RHIJN Marlou NED - Netherlands SILVER le FUR Marie-Amelie FRA - France BRONZE GREEN Katrin GER - Germany LONDON, 6 September M arlou VAN RHIJN (NED) won the T44 women's 200m despite a slow start. In the second half of the race the 20-year-old double-leg amputee just ate up the track after starting to motor off the bend, en route to setting a T43 world record of 26.18. VAN RHIJN overtook 100m gold medallist Marie-Amelie LE FUR (FRA), a single lower-leg amputee, 50m from the line and pulled away from her with every stride. However, LE FUR was rewarded not only with a silver medal but also a T44 world record of 26.76, going 0.36 faster than anyone else had ever done with her classification. ""I really love the British crowd. They were amazing. It really helped me go on to do my best."" Marlou van RHIJN said For further information, please visit http://www.paralympic.org.
