Suite à la disparition de leur père - pilote d'avion dans la Royal Air Force - Nicolas et son jeune frère Matthieu sont recueillis par leur parent le plus proche, un vieil oncle curé de campagne en Normandie. Très vite, Nicolas atteint par la tuberculose se voit obligé de rester enfermé dans sa chambre. Cependant bien décidé à retrouver son père, il part à sa recherche sur les routes normandes, dans un long voyage initiatique, où il croisera le chemin d'étranges personnages.
Following the disappearance of his father, an ace pilot from the Royal Air, Nicolas and his younger brother Matthieu were taken by their closest foster parent. He was an old priest from the countryside in Normandy. Nicolas suddenly succombs to tuberculosis and is forced to remain in his room. Although, the will to find his father pushes him to venture the Norman roads and meet fairly strange people.
