by Andrew CaringiAn underwater robot developed to hunt invasive lionfish is being used in the deep waters of Bermuda. The fish species, which is breeding out of control, poses a huge threat to Bermuda’s marine ecosystem. The “Guardian” robot, which is still an early prototype, can hunt and capture up to 10 lionfish in one trip. The robot’s creators hope to also adapt the Guardian into an online game where people can capture fish via a smartphone app.
