AMC celebrates the return its original series, the modern western drama "Hell on Wheels," starring Anson Mount as former Confederate soldier Cullen Bohannon.
The second season of "Hell on Wheels" continues the story of Cullen Bohannon (Mount), whose journey west is filled with turmoil and danger as he struggles to leave a troubled past behind. Executive produced by John Shiban ("Breaking Bad," "The X-Files"), Joe and Tony Gayton (Faster, Uncommon Valor) and Endemol USA's Jeremy Gold, the show is centered around the treacherous traveling town that follows and services the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, the series examines the greed and corruption in man's constant fight for power.
"Hell on Wheels" also stars Common as Elam Ferguson, an emancipated slave working to achieve true freedom in a world entrenched in prejudice; Colm Meaney as Thomas "Doc" Durant, a greedy entrepreneur taking full advantage of the changing times; Dominique McElligott as Lily Bell, a newly widowed woman trying to survive in a man's world; Christopher Heyerdahl as The Swede, once seated as Durant's second in command, he is now trying to reclaim the power he once had; Robin McLeavy as Eva, a former prostitute involved in a love triangle; Tom Noonan as Reverend Cole, a troubled man of God; Ben Esler as Sean McGinnes and Philip Burke as Mickey McGinnes, two young brothers looking to find their fortune in the new West; and Eddie Spears as Joseph Black Moon, a Native American man torn between his culture and the changing world around him.
The second season of "Hell on Wheels" will debut on AMC on Sunday, August 12 at 9PM ET/PT.
