REV'IT! evolves its popular adventure jacket once again with the new Sand 3. This is for the rider that wants a highly versatile four-season riding jacket. The outershell is polyester ripstop and PWR material made to be highly abrasion and tear resistant. The exterior features abound from there. Starting at the collar, there’s a Flexisnap system to adjust fit and a hook and loop element to keep the cuff closure secure if you want to ride with it open. On top of the shoulders are bands intended to secure down action cameras, should you want to keep a record of your adventures. REV’IT! also includes points to anchor a neck brace if you want a bit more protection on your ride.
There’s laminated reflection elements on the chest and back, along with reflective logos on the upper arms and pocket flaps. REV’IT has enhanced the ventilation design over the outgoing Sand 2 jacket, with larger torso and arm vents. The waist adjustment straps are designed to promote airflow also when cinched. Fit can be further refined with adjustment snap tabs on the upper arms and adjustment straps on the forearms. The bottom hem has a drawstring cord that tightens and loosens as needed too, in addition to exterior waist strap adjusters. Seamless armpit panels enhance the comfort when moving on the bike, and the entire piece has been designed under the auspices of REV’IT!’s Engineered Skin method. This technique incorporates information gleaned from 3D anatomical scans of the human body, informing design elements like the placement of armor, which areas to reinforce abrasion resistance with additional material, the precise curve of the arms in riding position, all with the goal of maximizing freedom of movement, fit and performance.
Finally, two stash pockets along with hand warmer pockets, and a rear carrying pouch provide ample exterior storage.
Inside, there’s a detachable Hydratex waterproof liner and a detachable thermal liner, both full sleeve. Each of the liners has an interior pocket option also. Seeflex CE-level 2 armor is included on the shoulders and elbows and there’s a pocket on the main chassis for an optional Seesoft CE-level 2 back protector also.
