Shocking footage appears to show a driver arguing with a police officer who claims the vehicle is stolen and behaves particularly aggressively.

In the footage, shot in Winnipeg, Canada on May 1, the police officer can be heard threatening the driver to smash his window if he doesn't get out of the car.

"The police officer approached my vehicle tapped on the glass very loud what I thought was a flashlight and proceeded to tell me that my car was reported stolen and under investigation," the filmer wrote online.

"Me and also my mother are lawful owners of the car and I had proof on the insurance in my hand which he didn't want to accept."

"So I was scared pulled my right to be silent. He then opened the door my hand was just on the handle," he added.

"After they ripped me out of the car and forced me to the ground with 4 officers using excessive use of force, he definitely didn't have probable cause to arrest me."

He was then let go by the officers.
