Guatemalan-American actor and musician, Oscar Isaac joined us on Sway in the Morning to talk about his starring role in the historical drama, The Promise, which depicts the Armenian genocide. Isaac portrays Mikael Boghosian, an apothecary who travels to Constantinople to fulfill his dream of studying medicine and bring modern medicine to his hometown. The actor talks about the importance of the film and the research he delve into in order to prepare for his role. He revealed that all the proceeds from the film are going to charity.

Isaac has a large body of work, but you may know him from his role as Francesco from All About the Benjamins, or more recently from his role as Poe Dameron from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

We just happened to have a guitar in the studio and had Isaac play us a bit (watch below). Later, Isaac and Sway swap advice on parenthood given that Isaac and his girlfriend Elvira Lind are expecting their first child – a baby boy.
