No. 6 seed Georgia Southern won a 6-0 game against No. 7 UT Arlington on Friday morning to advance to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship.

Play was resumed at 9 a.m. CT on Friday morning following a weather delay that forced the game, which originally started at 7:10 p.m. CT on Thursday night, to be suspended and rescheduled. Both Georgia Southern (35-23) and UT Arlington (30-27) replaced their original starting pitchers prior to play resuming with two outs in the top of the third inning and the Eagles batting.

Georgia Southern junior Landon Hughes came on in relief of original starter, freshman Chase Cohen, and did not allow a hit in seven innings of relief. He walked two and added nine strikeouts in the effort and improved his record to 5-2 on the season. UT Arlington junior Joel Kuhnel (6-4), the original starter in the Thursday night game, took the loss as he allowed a hit and an earned run in 2 2/3 innings pitched with three strikeouts.
