Many of the world’s top political leaders, bankers, and corporate executives have gathered in Virginia for a highly secretive conference called Bilderberg, reports the BBC.
According to a press release issued by the group, the meeting, scheduled from June 1-4 in Chantilly, Virginia, will cover a list of 13 topics including one titled, “The Trump Administration: A progress report.”
The Guardian is speculating that “the US president’s extraordinary chiding of [NATO] leaders in Brussels is sure to be chewed over at Bilderberg, which takes its name from the hotel in the Netherlands where its conference first met in 1954.”
The publication also points out that the Trump administration will have strong representation in the form of National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, and the president’s strategist Chris Liddell.
Other U.S. politicians listed as participants include Republican Senators Tom Cotton and Lindsey Graham, and former diplomat Henry Kissinger who recently met with Trump.
Among the other key topics to be discussed include regions like the Trans-Atlantic, the European Union, Russia, the Near East, and China, and broader issues including populism and nuclear proliferation, among others.
More than 130 participants across 21 countries are expected to attend, though they must all observe the conference rule which allows attendees to utilize the information received but prohibits them from revealing the identity or affiliation of any contributors.
