by Jonathan SangerFour albino children from Tanzania received new limbs at a hospital in the U.S. after surviving brutal attacks in their homeland. The children were fitted with new prosthetics at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.  Albinos are targeted in Tanzania because of a superstition that they are ghosts. Their limbs are considered valuable by some because they are used in witchcraft. Albinism affects about one in 20,000 people worldwide, but the condition occurs much more often in sub-Saharan Africa, where one in 1,400 Tanzanians have it. United Nations officials estimate at least 75 albinos were killed in Tanzania between 2000 and 2015.
