If you’ve never had the opportunity or resources to go scuba diving, this new half-scuba / half-snorkel device might be the introduction to life under the sea that you’ve been waiting for. The Scorkl is a compact, lightweight scuba tank that refills with a hand pump. The tiny air tank includes a pressure gauge as well as a breathe-on-demand regulator that the manufacturer claims meets scuba industry standards.

About 12 minutes of pumping yields up to 10 minutes of air time and each miniature tank can be refilled up to 50 times total.

While the tank is safe to use at depths approaching 66 feet, the company recommends that untrained divers not venture much further than 10 feet below the water’s surface.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until next summer because the Scorkl doesn’t ship until October (we hope).
