The increase in service tax percentage from 14.5% to 15% is applicable from June 1st, 2016. This change in tax is going to make living costlier, all thanks to the Krishi Kalyan cess. The Swacch Bharat Cess was earlier added by Centre making the service tax 14.5%, but the new addition of Krishi Kalyan cess has come out as a headache to the commoners. Will people accept the sudden increase in cost of living? Or will this be a breaking point against the BJP government?
