Mulan is an unusual film that deals with a number of human rights issues such as war crimes that normally never surface in a Walt Disney film. In addition, the central plot of the film addresses the struggle of women for equality through the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, a princess who disguised herself as a man and took her sick father's place in battle against invading Hun armies.
The film stars Min-Na Wen, Eddie Murphy, BD Wong, Miguel Ferrer, June Foray, Harvey Fierstein, Gedde Watanabe, Jerry ondo, James Hong, and Miriam Margolyes.
