Fishing Boat Captain Rescues Crewman After Capsize

After a fishing boat capsized in the Kupreanof Strait near Raspberry Island, Alaska, on July 24, the boat’s captain jumped into the water to rescue one of his crewman, according to the Alaska Dispatch News citing the US Coast Guard and a witness.The Grayling was reported capsized at 3:25 pm on July 24 when a nearby vessel, the Calista Marie, responded to assist, reported the Alaska Dispatch News. While being towed to shore by the Calista Marie, the boat rolled, sending its four crew members into the water.Two Grayling crew members, including the captain, climbed aboard The Grayling’s own skiff, the report said, and a third was lifted from the water by Calista Marie crew.A fourth Grayling crew members remained missing in the water for about 20 minutes before being spotted.
