In Gaoua, in the South-West of Burkina Faso, Nahondomo PALENFO cultivates dozens of hectares of various crops.

This year, he has also ventured into the transformation of rice and has put in place the very first mini rice mill of the region.

This industrial unit has given hope to rice producers, who now have buyers for their harvests.

“We have seen rice fields in the inland valley being abandoned as there were no buyers. The producers did not know where to sell their rice. Some had abandoned their fields. With this mini rice mill, I think that today the producers are again motivated to go to the inland valleys to produce,” explains Nahondomo PALENFO.
