Twenty-seven people have died after a female suicide bomber blew herself up at a market in northeastern Nigeria.

Two other suicide bombers detonated their devices outside a nearby refugee camp, wounding dozens of people.

The three explosions took place near the city of Maiduguri, the epicentre of the eight-year-long conflict between the Nigerian government and Islamist militants Boko Haram.

In total 83 people were wounded.

Government forces retook large swathes of territory from Boko Haram last year but the militants have struck back, killing at least 170 people since June.
