Filmmaker Cecil Hunt recorded a man as he fled from protesters and stripped down at Emancipation Park in Charlottesville, Virginia, on August 12.Hunt was at Emancipation Park filming material for his documentary on Confederate monuments when he captured the moment a man stripped out of his khaki-and-white uniform of the white nationalist group Vanguard America and claimed he was only attending the rally for “fun” and was not really a white supremacist. In an article written by Hunt for GQ he stated: “Since I’m a person of color, my identity is not a uniform I can take off when I am feeling unsafe – when I’m stopped by police or when my white girlfriend and I travel through southern towns where Confederate flags billow from porches and pickup trucks.” Credit: Cecil Hunt via Storyful
