A "dangerous" gangland murderer who was freed from his prison guards by two armed men is still on the run this morning with the public warned not to approach him.
Shaun Walmsley, 28, escaped from prison guards outside Liverpool's Aintree University Hospital as they were leaving yesterday afternoon.
Two men armed with a gun, knife and pepper spray are believed to have leapt out of a vehicle and held up the prison guards.
They then fled with Walmsley - who is serving a life sentence - in a gold Volvo.
Merseyside Police today confirmed the killer is still on the run and have warned members of the public not to approach him if they see him.
Walmsley is just two years into a minimum 30-year sentence for his part - along with three others - in the brutal killing of Anthony Duffy.
