According to the Red Cross a serious humanitarian crisis is unfolding on the Myanmar side with thousands of displaced people stranded or left
without food for weeks.

Australia will provide up to $4.03 million in assistance while Malaysia is flying in much-needed aid .

The flight of the Rohingya began two weeks ago after insurgents attacked police posts and an army base in Rakhine
state. That triggered an army counter-offensive in which 400 people were killed,
