Lord Ganesha also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka is a widely worshipped deity in the Religion of Hindu. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles. Son of Lord Shiva and Parvathi, Ganesha is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of any rituals and ceremonies. Lord Ganesha has got a significance head -- an elephant head. Here is the story how he got elephant head. Parvathi, in the absence of Shiva created Ganesha to guard her quarters while taking bath. Shiva returned to quarters to see Parvathi. Ganesha stopped him at the entrance. Being humiliated by a small boy Shiva in a rage severed Ganeshas head. Later he restored his life and provided him with an elephant head because it was the only animal sleeping facing north. To pacify Parvathi, he made Ganesha the Lord of Beginning. Those who worship Lord Ganesha will be successful in life because he removes all the obstacles and blesses his devotees.\r
