On Tuesday, Roy Moore won the Senate GOP runoff election in Alabama — claiming victory over Donald Trump’s prefered candidate, Senate Luther Strange. The former justice chief of Alabama has made headlines on more than one occasion for his statements on hot-button issues, one of which led to his removal from the Alabama Supreme Court bench. In 2005, Moore had this to say about homosexuality: “Homosexual conduct should be illegal. It is immoral, it is defined by the law as detestable.”
