6. Australian Jewel Beetle\r
These little beetles native to Australia, made news in new when a pair of biologists on vacation in Western Australia discovered the beetle had a special relationship with a brand of Australian beer. The bottle was short and brown in color. The biologists found one of these bottles being furiously gripped by one of these beetles. They tried to shake the beetle off, and they discovered that the beetle was ually trying to mate with the discarded beer bottle. The biologists gathered three of the beer bottles and placed them side by side where they discovered after 30 minutes, six beetles had come to try to mate with the bottles. It turns out that the way that the bottle was designed happened to look a lot like a female Jewel Beetle, down to the markings and everything. Science calls this effect an evolutionary trap, which means that a human invention tricks an animal into performing certain biological ions.\r

5. Snake\r
This disgusting looking image is ually the skinned carcass of a pregnant viper. Blogger Kevin Cameron took this picture before he grilled the pregnant snake and ate it with his neighbor. He said that it,”Tasted like a snake”, which obviously isnt very descriptive. Snakes lay eggs when they give birth so what youre seeing is the fetus and nearly formed eggs that the baby would have broken out of. Given that snakes reproductive habits vary greatly from location to species, the snake babies could have been born live or been abandoned as soon as the mother gives birth to them. Unlike human babies, snake offspring can defend and take care of themselves immediately after leaving the egg.\r

4. Tasmanian Devil\r
The Tasmanian devils mating prices are very dramatic, to say the least. The males of the species beat each other into submission in their competition for females. If the male isnt dominant enough for the female, then she will take it upon herself to beat him up. After mating, the male will be very protective over the female, but they sneak away from the males to mate with yet another. A pack of Tasmanian devils can ually have up to four different fathers. If the male devil catches the female trying to leave him, he will grab her by the neck and drag her back to their den. Despite the violent nature of their mating, Tasmanian devils are ually very social animals, and they form lifelong relationships with each other.\r

3. Millipedes\r
Believe it or not, millipedes might ually have the most romantic mating habits. When they mate sometimes, the female will feel threatened by the male and curl up into a tight ball. To try to soothe the female into curling out of her ball, the male will walk over her back so that his many legs can give her a kind of massage to loosen her up. In some species of millipede, the male will even emit sounds similar to singing to comfort his mate.\r

2. Shingleback Lizards\r
Monogamy isnt a big thing in the animal kingdom, but the shingle back lizard is one of the few animals that stay faithful to a single partner throughout their entire life. They mate only once per year, but they stick with their one partner. The male lizards are incredibly dedicated to their offspring too. Some of the male lizards will even go without food to stay alert while they are looking after their children.
