3 - Mary Shotwell Little – Mary Shotwell Little was 25 years old when she went missing on October 14, 1965 in Atlanta. She had just been married for six weeks when she had dinner with a friend and headed to her car after doing some shopping at the mall. She was never seen again. Police soon found her car still in the mall parking lot with blood stains inside and womens undergarments inside. A month later it was reported that Littles signature was on receipts at a gas station in Charlotte and then in Raleigh on October 15 – a day after she went missing. 18 months later a woman named Diane Shields, who worked at the same bank as Little and who had mutual friends, was murdered. Many speculate that there is a connection there, but havent been able to figure out either case. \r

2 - Jean Spangler – Jean Spangler was a model, dancer and ress in 1948, however she disappeared in 1949. On October 7, dropped off her daughter with her sister in law around 5pm and said she was going to meet her ex-husband to discuss child support. A night clerk at a store said he saw her later that night waiting for someone, but she was never seen again. After interviewing Spanglers ex-husband, he said he had not seen Spangler for weeks and his new wife provided an alibi for him the night Spangler went missing. Spanglers purse was found two days after she went missing and inside was a note that said, “ Cant wait any longer, Going to see Dr. Scott. It will work best this way while mother is away,” The note was addressed to someone named Kirk. The note ended with a comma and nobody named Kirk or Dr. Scott was ever located as a person Spangler knew. Spanglers mother had been away during her disappearance and when she returned she stated that someone named Kirk had come to pick up Spangler several times at her home but never got out of his car. Spanglers friends confirmed that Spangler was three months pregnant when she disappeared, but was planning on having an abortion. The case is still open with the LAPD.\r

1 - Tara Calico – Tara Calico left for a bike ride at around 9:30 am on September 20, 1988 and never returned. Her mother had taken the same ride with her before, but stopped because she didnt feel it was safe. On that morning, Tara had told her mom that if she didnt return home by noon to come and look for her. When Tara didnt return home by noon, her mom went to look for her. She conted the police when Tara wasnt on the bike trail. The police found pieces of Taras broken Walkman on the trail and they believed she was marking her path. The only lead was by a potential witness who saw Tara that morning on the trail and also saw a light colored pickup truck that may have been following her. In June of 1989 a Polaroid photo was found in a parking lot where a windowless van had been parked. In the photo appears to be a young girl and an even younger boy with taped mouths looking helplessly into the camera. A passerby found the photo and turned it into the police. The girl in the photo is believed to be Tara Calico. The photo has been determined to have been taken after May 1989 by the film that was used. The girl in the photo has a scar on her leg in the ex spot Tara had gotten a scar from a car accident. There were many sightings of her in the years after her disappearance, but those have dwindled and her case still remains unsolved.
